These 90 minute tennis classes will cover technique and
strategy, and will involve a lot of drills, competitive situations and games,
for both singles and doubles.

Doubles on Mondays and Wednesdays.
Singles on Tuesday.
$20 per workout for members; $25 for guests.

Friday mornings show up for an informal match play at 9:30am, no
charge for members.

This group is a high intensity competitive class lasting 3 hours. Anyone is welcome to join as the courts are separated out according to ability. It is primarily targeted at tournament players and those wishing to play on middle and high school tennis teams.

CLASS CONTENT

A very physical group; advanced drilling, mental toughness training, self discipline. There will be a lot of emphasis on correct technique and footwork. This group is expected to play challenge matches, local USTA tournaments, and to play on middle and high school tennis teams. Each day will be broken down into feeding / technique drills, competitive situations, point play, and on court conditioning.

TENNIS CONDITIONING

Each group lesson will include conditioning specifically designed to improve the following areas: balance, gross motor coordination, speed and explosive capabilities, strength, flexibility and agility.

MATCH PLAY

We will be having match practice in the mornings for those wanting to get more practice in. Please contact one of the Pro Staff for more information.

REGISTRATION

All of our summer tennis clinics are on a daily basis. Please feel free to join us for just one day a week or for every day. If you miss a week just join us again when it fits your schedule. You will be charged just for the days you play. If you are not currently a Wildwood member, there will be an additional $5 guest fee each time you play on a space available basis.

CLASS CONTENT

Pro fed drills, rallying, and cooperative games. Emphasis on learning proper stroke technique, and fun games to encourage enjoyment of the game from a young age. All strokes will be built from the ground up with the goal to get these children rallying, serving, and playing matches.

MATCH PLAY

We will be having match practice clinics on Fridays, and inter-club matches with other local Nashville clubs, plus USTA tournaments. Check with Junior Development staff for match schedules.

GROUP SIZE

We will have many helpers for all the morning groups so your child will get maximum individual attention. All of our helpers play on high school or college tennis teams and are there to make sure your child has a fun learning experience with tennis

SWIM TEAM

We coordinate all our tennis classes around the swim team practices and schedule so there is no problem doing both swim team and tennis classes. For more information on the swim team please contact Caitlin Heyman.

Fast moving, self-feeding drills, with many competitive situations supplemented with pro-fed drills, rallying and cooperative hitting. Our goal is to get all of our tournament level players ready for the Tennessee Qualifying, and to have as many as possible go onto Southerns. We will be having Pro support at the qualifying tournament for all our junior players in the camp.

THE COMPETITIVE EDGE COLLEGE PROGRAM

These groups are for junior tennis players competing in USTA state, sectional and national tournaments, and already highly ranked in Tennessee.

There will be a lot of time devoted to correct modern technique, entrance shots, patterns of play, and developing the correct mental focus to compete at a high level. Many of the drills and games will be played under pressure to simulate tournament conditions. Each day we will work on specifics needed to improve the group.

There will be an on court conditioning program each day, video analysis when necessary, plus ongoing evaluations for parents and players. Competitive data will be taken throughout the month and used to map out future areas of need for each individual player. Tournament competition and challenge matches are mandatory.

This group will move indoors in November. Indoor court time during the winter for this group is free on a space available basis for additional practice.

Ball machine will also be available at no extra charge.

Level and attitude will determine acceptance into these groups and they are by invitation only.

Tournament All USTA rules apply and the code of conduct will be enforced.

Rules:

• Check in 15 minutes before your scheduled time of play.
• Each player will be allowed to enter only one event.
• Matches will be two out of three sets with a 10-point super
• tiebreaker to decide the third set.
• Five minute warm up will be enforced.
• There will be a first match loser consolation event
• Seeding: All seeding will come from the most current USTA lists.

Awards:There will be awards to all singles winners and finalists in the main draws and to the consolation winners.

Entry Fee: $40 per player.
